![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() If your offered a position, run don’t walk away from Polar Power. The day I left it felt like an immense weight was lifted from me. Another past his due date person the company needs to replace. He is lacking any backbone, would not support any of his team, with an outdated mentality. I left the company due to the stress and the deplorable manager in my department. No advertising of the company is allowed. They have a really good product but lack the vision to promote it the way it should be. Refuse to allow any change that the owner didn’t come up with himself. Then, tie their hands when they want to make changes not allowing them to remove the problem personally. They hire department heads to help clean up the problems that they caused. Expect you to produce unrealistic expectations and complain about the overtime costs. They tell and promise customers anything and then never follow through then loosing the business. Everyone is out for themselves and will toss you under the bus when the chance presents. No team work mentality in ANY department. ![]() You complain and you get knocked down for it. Nepotism runs rampant throughout the company. They lure you into a descent position for a year or so then fabricate reasons to demote and reduce your wages. The R&D lead is a megalomaniac with delusions of grandeur, always stabbing anyone he can in the back. He is well past his prime and needs to step down. The owner of the company is “Prima Dona” always insulting your intelligence and ability’s. Then kick them to the curb when it suits them. When they run into a problem they scramble to hire anyone that they think will fix the problem. High turn around in most departments due to the deplorable management. This company is falling apart at the seams! Upper management is always looking for ways to demote you, keeping the employees under their thumbs. The hours are the only real good thing about this company in all honesty. It guides itself by "he said/she said" and so job security can be a bit stressful. I don't want to come off as a disgruntled employee, I just feel people need to know the truth about the company. There isn't really engineering work done at the company, its more a "we've done it like this and it works" type of mentality. He has some strange obsession with buying things from eBay and calling himself an Engineer, when he really is just a handyman, or journeyman. The company President is rude and condescending, he wants things done his way and when he claims to want you to figure something out he promptly insults your intelligence and forces things to be done HIS way. They claim that you will be working on certain tasks, but in reality they switch you over to work on things that were never specified in the job duties. This leads to confusion as to what exactly you are supposed to do. The higher ups ask for different things each day and do not communicate with each other. There is massive disorganization and a very volatile environment in terms of growth. Polar Power could be a decent place to work, if you got rid of a few people and fixed the overall structure of the company. ![]()
